Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium Is Celebrating 25 Seasons!

After opening its gates in 1998, Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium has become Jupiter’s premier entertainment and baseball venue! Across the 25 unique seasons, three major league teams have called RDCS home for Spring Training. During the inaugural season, Montreal Expos and St. Louis Cardinals legends, like Mark McGwire and Vladimir Guerrero, roamed the nearly 110-acre complex featuring 13 full-sized baseball fields. In 2003, the Miami Marlins moved in and became the Cardinals’ newest neighbors. Today, the Cardinals and Marlins continue to make Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium their home away from home.

In addition to two Spring Training teams, Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is also the only venue in North America to host two Minor League teams. The Jupiter Hammerheads (Marlins Class-A Affiliate) and Palm Beach Cardinals (Cardinals Class-A Affiliate) currently call The Dean home throughout the summer months. The Hammerheads will also be celebrating their 25th anniversary, while the Cardinals are ready to begin their 20th season. Baseball legends like Jimmy Rollins (1998), David Wright (2003), Joe Mauer (2003-2004), and many others have all made Minor League appearances at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium on their way to becoming household names.

To celebrate 25 years, RDCS will be taking fans down memory lane. Throughout Spring Training and the Class-A season, major moments, like McGwire hitting the first home run in stadium history or breaking ground for the stadium in 1998, will be remembered. Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is excited to showcase historic artifacts that fans will be able to see firsthand when they come to the ballpark.
